Patricia Camarillo

Board Member

Patricia Camarillo is a teacher of students with visual impairments for a large urban school district and has been teaching for 18 years. She is currently pursuing her doctorate degree in Global Leadership and Change at Pepperdine University. In 2021, she received her National Board Certification in Exceptional Needs, in the area of Visual Impairment. Prior to this, she earned her Master’s degree in special education and an early childhood special education credential from Fresno Pacific University in 2016, an education specialist in visual impairment credential from San Francisco State University in 2012, and a multiple subjects teaching credential from Fresno State University in 2005.

Patricia actively collaborates with community agencies, focusing on the individualized achievement of individuals with visual impairment in order to lead independent, interdependent, and meaningful lives of their choice. Patricia joined the Board of Directors in 2017, bringing her experience and passion for the importance of direct and specialized instruction for individuals with visual impairment, including blindness.
